About This Player

The M60 is an American-designed, belt-fed, gas-operated, air-cooled machine gun that fires 7.62×51mm NATO cartridges. Introduced in 1957 and adopted in 1960, it served with every branch of the U.S. military, notably in the Vietnam War, and was known for its heavy firepower and high ammo consumption, earning it the nickname "The Pig". The M60 is generally fired from the shoulder, bipod, or tripod, and while largely replaced by the M240 in U.S. service, it continues to be used by other nations.
