VF-33 STARFIGHTERS - Carrier Air Wing Four
Fighter Squadron 33 (VF-33), known as the "Tarsiers" (later "Starfighters"), was a U.S. Navy fighter squadron established in 1948 (re-established from a 1942 unit) and disestablished in October 1993. Based on the East Coast, the squadron flew F4U Corsairs in Korea, and transitioned through F-8 Crusaders, F-4 Phantom IIs, and finally F-14B Tomcats, serving in Vietnam and Operation Desert Storm.
