About This Group
The XM250 is a new light machine gun being developed by SIG Sauer for the U.S. Army as part of the Next Generation Squad Weapons (NGSW) program‚ intended to replace the M249. It is a belt-fed‚ 6.8mm weapon that is lighter and more powerful than the M249‚ featuring a standard suppressor and advanced optics to increase soldier lethality and battlefield awareness. After adoption‚ its designation was changed to M250‚ and it is being fielded alongside the M7 rifle.
