About This Group

Overwatch 314 | VRC is an independent PC focused VRC roleplay server situated within the universe of Half Life. We are a tight knit and dedicated community that prides ourselves on lore feasibility and creativity within the bounds of the Half Life universe.

Immerse yourself in the midst of the Combine occupation of Earth and the events surrounding it. Step into the shoes of humanity at it's most downtrodden or proudly serve Earth's benefactors in the name of full a*similation. We are a relatively new group but we have big plans‚ a high bar for quality‚ experienced and talented creators/role-players‚ and what hopes to be a bright future ahead of us. Having learned much from our roots‚ we intend to provide an exceptional environment and truly present the universe of Half Life as a living breathing world for all to experience first hand. We host events periodically throughout the week as well as a guaranteed server gathering every Saturday.

The year is 2019‚ 1 year after the collapse of The Vault at the hands of Alyx Vance‚ and 4 years before the re-emergence of the messianic Gordon Freeman.

Humanity lives under the rule of an inter-dimensional empire unofficially referred to as "The Combine". The true size of this empire is unknown. Most remaining humans live in numbered urban centers‚ within which they reside in pre-designated apartment blocks a*signed to them via link to their Civil Identification Number (CID)‚ a means of identification on a global scale. Quality of life is low. Citizens within these urban centers suffer regular threat of corporal and capital punishment‚ often from other humans enlisted under the Combine.

Earth itself is never officially referred to as such. The only observable reference to the planet itself is through the number "314". The exact meaning and ramifications of this number are unknown.
