About This Group
The Freikorps Von Süd Reich was formed in 1919, alongside Der Stahlhelm. They had joint operations, and similar uniforms, with a combined force of 600,000 men. Der Stahlhelm had a change in leadership in 1920, as well as the Freikorps, making them more central-right oriented, believing in defending the Weimar Republic and her people. It was when this happened that they gained more support, and government funding, with the Reichswehr joining in joint exercises as well. In 1930, they got new uniforms, and new carbine G-98 rifles, K-98a, and K-98b variants.
