In 30k (Warhammer 30k Horus Heresy era), the Dark Angels Legion, led by Primarch Lion El'Jonson, were a formidable, secretive, and disciplined force, known for their brutal effectiveness, operating under unique formations like the Deathwing and Ravenwing, but were deeply divided by the secret betrayal of some brethren during the Heresy, a shame they hid, leading to paranoia and their post-Heresy obsession with hunting "The Fallen" (traitors who escaped). They were loyal but aloof, focused on crushing threats behind enemy lines and securing supply routes rather than directly fighting at Terra, a choice that secured victory but left them with a dark, hidden guilt that defined their future.
