formation and Early Years (1999=2003)

Motograter formed in 1999 in Reno‚ Nevada.

The bands name comes from their signature instrument‚ the motograter‚ a custom-made percussion instrument made from industrial cable and guitar parts‚ giving their sound a very unique‚ heavy‚ and industrial tone.

Their style mixes nu-metal‚ alternative metal‚ and industrial metal‚ often compared to bands like Slipknot for their aggressive vocals and stage presence.

They built a following through intense live shows and their unique aesthetic (body paint‚ tribal masks‚ and industrial gear).
