About This Group
The House of the Dead (?.???.??.?.???)‚ or known for its acronym as THOTD‚ is a horror light-gun shooter arcade game that was developed by Sega Amusement Machine Research & Development Department No.1 (??AM?????) and published by SEGA Enterprises‚ Ltd. in 1997. Takashi Oda (?? ??)‚ known to be as the director‚ planner‚ and producer of the first installment of the series from Sega AM1‚ the development of The House of the Dead started all the way back in December of 1995. As the production on The House of the Dead was underway after the recent release of their finished titled Alien 3? The Gun (1993)‚ AM1 had their eyes set for a newer title in the early years of 1995. Since AM1 felt pressured from both releases of Virtua Cop (developed by AM2‚ 1994) and Gunblade NY (developed by AM3‚ 1995). As both AM2 and AM3 were centered around making games for children during the time‚ AM1 wanted to deviate from children and target more for the adults instead. After from its prototype stages‚ which was known to be named originally as "The House of Dead" before the initial change to its current name "The House of the Dead" as its final product. Since its official release back in 1997‚ this series would open up a whole new world‚ alongside with the popular series Resident Evil‚ of zombies and monster media in the late 90's to early 2000's.

This group is dedicated to the works of Takashi Oda‚ SEGA AM1 development team‚ SEGA Enterprises‚ and to the fans of the series. This game is still part of my childhood and including yours as well.
