Virus Z was engineered to repair human cells‚ but it malfunctioned and spread worldwide. The infected lost normal biological function while remaining active and aggressive.

As governments and infrastructure failed‚ cities were abandoned and left to decay. The virus continues to mutate‚ keeping the infected in a persistent state between life and death.

And as time went on more stages of zombies were developed.
