About This Group
The Border Princes‚ also known as the Borderlands‚ Border Princedoms‚ Border Kingdoms‚ The Princes‚ and the Border Principalities‚ is a vast region within the Old World of Warhammer Fantasy. It is located east of the Tilean city-states between the Black Mountains and Black Fire Pa*s to the north and the shores of the Black Gulf to the south. This region is home to a multitude of petty kingdoms of Men that were established by highly ambitious adventurers who sought to create a realm of their own. These adventurers were often political or religious refugees fleeing from other Human realms of the Old World such as the Empire‚ Bretonnia‚ and Tilea‚ but also from even more distant lands such as Kislev.

The Border Princes are often seen as a land of freedom for many downtrodden peasants‚ optimistic mercenaries‚ or exiled Bretonnian nobles looking to better their lives. However‚ any real success is hard-won‚ and few have the strength and resources to claim a corner for themselves. The region is fiercely disputed by the hardy human colonists and many Orc and Goblin tribes.

The Border Princes are also a natural destination for emigrating peasants and nobles‚ seeking a better life. Most of these colonists are descendants of Bretonnia or come from the Empire and Tilea. Many of them are political or religious refugees‚ but the region is also the natural destination for deserters and/or criminals on the run from the law.
