About This Group
In Friday the 13th Part VIII˸ Jason Takes Manhattan （1989）‚ the seemingly unkillable Jason Voorhees hitches a ride to the Big Apple aboard a cruise ship full of unsuspecting high school graduates. After dispatching most of the pa*sengers and crew‚ Jason finds himself adrift and eventually makes landfall in New York City. While the title promises a full-blown rampage through Times Square and other iconic locations‚ the majority of the film takes place on the water and in the city's less glamorous underbelly. Eventually‚ Jason does stalk the streets of Manhattan‚ culminating in a final showdown with the ＂final girl＂ in the city's sewers. While not considered one of the stronger entries in the franchise‚ Jason Takes Manhattan offers a change of scenery and some memorable kills as the hockey-masked murderer brings his brand of terror to the urban jungle.
