Setting
Year˸ 1976
Location˸ A small Soviet town in the Caucasus‚ far from anywhere that matters
On paper‚ the Soviet Union is strong.
Here‚ it just feels tired.
Your town barely shows up on official maps. Trains slow down as they pa*s‚ but they never stop. Supplies arrive late. Answers never arrive at all. Orders come down from Moscow‚ but no one explains why. They never do.
Life goes on anyway. It always has.
The Situation
In early 1976‚ military trucks start showing up on the edge of town.
At first‚ no one thinks much of it. The army has always been around in one way or another. But this is different. They arent building anything. They arent training.
Theyre dumping things.
Old Soviet equipment is unloaded and left behind˸
Armored vehicles from the Cold War‚ rusted and written off as obsolete
Mi-series helicopters dragged in‚ blades removed‚ never flown again
Heavy crates stamped with СССР and faded red warning symbols
Sealed containers with no labels at all
Equipment rumored to come from research facilities no one admits exist
When people ask questions‚ theyre given the same answer every time˸
Routine logistics.
And then‚ quietly‚ theyre told to stop asking.
