About This Group
Bastonne‚ formally the Dukedom of Bastonne. is a founding dukedom of Bretonnia that lies at the very centre of that kingdom. Bastonne was at one time the very heart of all Bretonnia‚ its founding duke being none other than Gilles le Breton‚ first King of Bretonnia.

Bastonne is in many ways the spiritual heart of the kingdom‚ for the great cathedral of the Cult of the Lady is situated within the walls of Castle Bastonne itself. It is also said that the very Sacred Lake where Gilles and his Grail Companions first met the Lady of the Lake‚ can be found somewhere deep within Bastonne's Forest of Châlons. The Grail Chapel of Bastonne houses the original codes of chivalry drawn up by Gilles' son‚ Louis the Rash.

As such‚ the people of Bastonne are especially arrogant and conceited‚ more so than perhaps any other dukedom within the kingdom. The Bastonnians have a tendency to want to prove their superiority towards all other lands and kingdoms‚ often belittling the achievements of others yet often showing very little of their own themselves. Nevertheless‚ the dukedom has within its ranks the greatest concentration of Grail Knights in the kingdom‚ as well as many of Bretonnia's greatest heroes‚ such as Calard of Garamont and Jasperre le Beau. Bastonne is currently ruled by Duke Bohemond Beastslayer‚ who is himself a mighty Grail Knight.
