Yangire comes from yanderu （病んでる）‚ meaning ＂to be mentally sick＂ and gire （切れ）‚ meaning ＂to snap＂

A yangire is someone who appears normal on the outside but is quietly suffering inside.
When the pressure becomes too much‚ they can suddenly break and turn violent‚ not out of love or obsession but because their mind can't cope anymore.

Unlike a yandere‚ who hurts others for love‚ a yangire hurts others because they are hurting themselves.
Their violence isn't romanticized‚ it's a tragic result of untreated pain‚ trauma or mental collapse.
