About This Group
This group exists to preserve an older anime fandom culture that no longer has space elsewhere.

Anime did not begin in 2020. It did not exist to be optimized for algorithms‚ outrage‚ or moral performance. For decades‚ it was a niche medium with internal literacy‚ genre variety‚ and an understanding that not every show needed to justify its existence to outsiders.

We are not interested in onboarding new fans.
We are not interested in bridging cultural gaps.
We are not interested in explaining anime history‚ genre purpose‚ or context to people who entered the medium yesterday and now want to redefine it.

We a*sume members already understand that anime is a medium‚ not a genre‚ and that it has always included a wide range of tones‚ audiences‚ and intentions.

This is a closed preservation space.
Exclusion is intentional.
If that bothers you‚ this group is not for you.

If youre here because you remember anime fandom before it became constantly defensive‚ hostile‚ and performativethen you already understand the purpose of this group and do not need further explanation.
