About This Group
The guardians of Miklagard is a Role-Play group based off the Varangian Guards after the fall of Constantinople and the Byzantine Empire at the hands of the Ottoman Empireǃ

For those of you who dont know the Varangian Guard was originally founded in 988 AD by emperor Basil II from Norse mercenaries mainly Rus and Scandinavians.

Over time countless famous norsemen would
spend there time within in the Guard such as Harald Hardrada a famous king of Norway.

After the Norman conquest of England and the end of the Viking age the Guard would gain an influx of Anglo-Saxon recruits.

Almost 466 years after the Guard was founded Constantinople‚ and like the emperor would fall at the hands of the Ottoman Empire the surviving members of the guard would form a Mercenary Company called The guardians of Miklagard in honor of the once proud city they failed to save along.

Now the organization has traveled to distant lands and recruited‚ countless people of different cultures‚religions and so on drastically‚ changing the makeup of the guard.Into something far more diverse and complex then how it was originally.With the original Norse and Anglo-Saxons and Greek barely making up a fraction of the current population within the guardians.But theyre all bound under one oath and banner.A oath of loyalty and brotherhood to each other no matter what past affiliation is anyone had.
