Following their swift and overwhelming subjugation of Earth during the Seven Hour War‚ the Combine installed the Universal Union‚ a puppet administrative regime governed by transhuman forces‚ suppressors‚ synthetic warforms‚ and artificial intelligence. Humanity was broken‚ repurposed‚ and placed under the boot of an empire that does not conquer out of hatredbut out of efficiency.

The Combine seeks total control˸ of time‚ space‚ biology‚ and thought. On Earth‚ it manifests through armored patrols‚ mechanical enforcers‚ looming Citadels‚ and the ever-present voice of Overwatch Dispatch. Behind it all is something far greateran empire stretching across dimensions‚ harvesting technology‚ species‚ and entire realities in service of a singular goal˸ order through a*similation.
