About This Group
The Realm of Talem started off as a field of possibilities‚ mystical and guarded by an ancient people. As time moved by in centuries a new people settled the land‚ humans. These fresh spirits were booming with potential and hungry for power‚ they hastily conquered the Realm settling in dozens of colonies. However the humans weren't a people of peace‚ they decimated the country side and soaked up the resources of the Realm. Leaving the west side of Talem as a graveyard‚ the Empires of Man became a husk of what they once where and so the ancient people gathered together. In a bid to resist the cancerous spread of the humans‚ a long standing kingdom of "Demi-humans" as there referred to now held its ground against the Empire of Nerzao. The Duchy of Maidstone was a powerful nation stricken with history and mages‚ they were a fortress against the humans. The humans provoked by this blockade began to industrialize‚ creating new weapons of war. These devastating powers shook the tides of the war‚ the Duchy of Maidstone was ravaged and pushed back to a fraction of what it once was. This disillusioned conflict brought the ancient people together once more for a compromise‚ using powers untouched for eon's they split the continent in two‚ a quaking energy that gave Maidstone an advantage to seize the upperhand once again. The Realm was shattered by war‚ the once flourishing land of the west now was a heartless stain. As time crept forward the humans continued to develop even throughout strife‚ they used airships and steamboats to cross the new divide. Sweeping across the land‚ however this splinter of humans did not wage a catastrophic war in the east. Rather they provided new technologies and ideals to the ancient people‚ seeking to work with them to create a strong united civilization. The Empire of Talem. Hesitant‚ the Demi-humans did not welcome the idea until the Duchy Maidstone bid to join the Empire. This set the groundwork for the new Realm's people.
