About This Group
The Separatists were a faction that played a key role in the Star Wars prequel trilogy‚ officially known as the Confederacy of Independent Systems (CIS). They were a coalition of star systems‚ corporations‚ and political leaders who broke away from the Galactic Republic‚ claiming it was corrupt and inefficient.

Led by Count Dooku‚ a former Jedi who turned to the dark side under Darth Sidious (secretly the Sith Lord Chancellor Palpatine)‚ the Separatists aimed to form their own government. They were heavily backed by powerful corporations like the Trade Federation‚ Techno Union‚ and Banking Clan‚ which provided ma*sive droid armies for their war effort.

The conflict between the Separatists and the Republic sparked the Clone Wars‚ a galaxy-wide war that ultimately led to the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire. Unbeknownst to most‚ both sides were manipulated by Palpatine as part of his plan to consolidate power.
