About This Group

World War I left Germany shattered economically‚ politically‚ and socially. The Treaty of Versailles imposed harsh reparations and territorial losses‚ fueling widespread unrest and despair among the population.

Amid this instability‚ the Communist Spartacus League‚ led by Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg‚ called for revolution and the abolition of the monarchy. Their uprising rapidly gained traction‚ spreading revolutionary sentiment across Germany.

On November 9th‚ 1919‚ Kaiser Wilhelm II abdicated and fled the country‚ leaving Germany without a monarch and plunging the nation into further chaos. With backing from Russian Bolsheviks‚ the Spartacists seized control of key industrial regions‚ initiating a violent period known as the Red Terror‚ marked by purges‚ intimidation‚ and suppression of the military aristocracy.

Opposition formed under Generalleutnant Hendrik Baumer‚ Duke of Brandenburg‚ who rallied loyal forces to resist the Spartacist advance and secure critical infrastructure. His successes galvanized nobles‚ clergy‚ and military leaders‚ leading to the formation of the White Rose Coalition‚ a united front against revolutionary rule.

Through coordinated military action‚ the Coalition ended the Red Terror on December 25th‚ 1920‚ restoring order and stability. An Imperial Diet was convened shortly after‚ where the nobility and archdiocese unanimously supported Baumers ascension. On January 22nd‚ 1921‚ Hendrik Baumer was crowned Kaiser‚ marking the beginning of a restored Imperial Germany.
